With a slate of movies that expands to 2019, both studios are hard at work on their various project. Right now, several sources have announced that Marvel and DC are looking to also expand their repertoire of famous actors.
Marvel is said to be looking at Tilda Swinton (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Snowpiercer) for a role in the upcoming Doctor Strange, in which she would be starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. The reports say that the actress might be up for the role of The Ancient One who is the previous Sorcerer Supreme as well as Doctor Strange's mentor.
Meanwhile DC is eying Chris Pine (Star Trek, Into The Woods) for a role in the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, in which he would be starring alongside Gal Gadot. The actor is reportedly in talks for the role of Steve Trevor (a role that was previously linked to Scott Eastwood). The Colonel Steve Trevor is an Air Force pilot and the classic love interest of Wonder Woman.
While these rumors have not been confirmed by the studios nor the actors, it still is a new bit of information on how the movies are coming up. It seems that Marvel and DC are more interested in actors who have already proved themselves on the big screen, rather than casting new actors.
