Chris Pratt may be Hollywood's golden boy right now, but it seems that he isn't planning on sticking around for much longer, according to a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"I don’t wanna raise Jack here. Anna [Faris] and I are both from Washington State. We both had pretty simple lives and upbringings. I want Jack to just be able to be like, ‘See ya buddy. Go outside. Come back later.’ And also, I like the country and clean air and things just slowed down. I’d like to give him some normalcy."
It's definitely an admirable thought, and Pratt wouldn't be the first celebrity to bow out of the Hollywood scene in order to raise a family away from the cameras. Seeing other celebrity children having to cope with paparazzi and constant tabloid judgement would be enough to put anyone off the idea of trying to balance family and fame.
However, as much as Chris and Anna may want to go live somewhere with clean air and room for kids to play (the '50s, for example), their popularity and schedules may not allow them to do so for quite some time.
Anna Faris is currently starring in the hugely popular show Mom, which shows no sign of slowing down, and they won't be leaving while she's still working on that. However, Pratt seems to be even busier than her, with his recent rise to superstardom.
He is currently promoting the latest Jurassic Park installment: Jurassic World, where he stars as raptor trainer Owen Grady, which (if successful) may be a role that he revisits in a Jurassic sequel down the line. He also has a definite sequel in the works as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and told GQ that he'll be playing Peter Quill for many movies to come.
"I’m tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple."
He's also currently working on Wild West story The Magnificent Seven, and could potentially be back in a LEGO Movie sequel as Emmett, and those are just the upcoming films we know about!
It seems like for the time being, Pratt and Faris are going to be sticking around in LA, and hopefully finding a way to give their son as much normalcy as they can. If nothing else, we can just add this to the list of reasons that Pratt is so well-loved by fans: a great actor, a genuinely sweet and funny guy, and an idealist and great father. All together now: Awwwwwwwwwwwww.
Jurassic World is out in theaters June 12th.
