I’ve missed a few contests so I felt I needed to take advantage of at least one. Being that I’m really into the DC universe over the Marvel, I thought this concept was a great way to expand the idea of what the Suicide Squad really is; a group of convicted felons given a chance to lessen their time and do something that the gov’t would never ask of their actual agents. Now, add the component that you are not limited to the bad guys in ANY particular universe and you’ve got a recipe for something epic. I did a little research into what some people picked and I came up with a bunch of names I hadn’t seen nor did I see. I noticed most people drifting off the comic book characters at all. Though some lists were very intimidating, I came up with my own Suicide Squad I could see making a good team.
When I played this game for the first time, I thought it was pure excellence on a compact disc. First person shooter action mixed with mental fear components and add that the little girl behind it all looks like the girl from the ring, It was destined to be held as a classic. I mean come on, everyone jumped at the scene when you’re climbing up the ladder.
I chose Alma as my first pick for my Suicide Squad because she brings a mental weapon to the table. Using her ability to manipulate people's mind and use their fears against them is a smart tool to have against any army. No matter the mission, she would a big part to play and she’d play it well.
Agent Smith (The Matrix)
Not only does he bring a physical aspect to the table, depending on the Smith you think to use, he could also bring with him other components that work well in any situation. Say you think of basic Agent Smith who is able to be anywhere at any time, taking over the body of others when his target is spotted. For this squad, I chose the infection Agent Smith. The Smith that can turn anyone into a carbon copy of himself. More than one super strong agent creating an army of soldiers ready to bring the pain? Let alone he can turn members of the opposing force into copies of himself as well. Upping his numbers is key but lessening their numbers is where he is just as powerful of a weapon.
Davy Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean)
The commander of the sea and the Bridger between the worlds of the living and the dead, Davy Jones not only brings the strength but he also has the power to stop them in their tracks. With his dominance over the ocean, he takes hold over any form of escape or intrusion by water. Sure he doesn’t work well on land but having him control an entire mass such as the ocean seems just as important. Let’s not forget the Kraken.
Darkseid/Brainiac (Justice League Unlimited)
My choice for Leader and I had to keep it DC for this one.
We all know that Darkseid and Brainiac have both held their own against Superman as well as the Justice League, but when Brainiac took over Darkseid’s body, he became a completely different weapon. Take the super strength of Darkseid and add the immense intelligence of Brainiac including his ability to control machines, the internet, and basically anything you can plug in, this is just way too tough of a guy to beat. Not only does this impose such a threat to the universe but, technically speaking, I don’t think he has ever actually been defeated.
I’ve only seen this appear in the old school 90s Justice League Unlimited cartoon and the Justice League couldn’t beat him. They were merely able to transfer him to a different dimension which means he could return...whenever. Bringing the strength and the brains to the table, Darkseid/Brainiac makes for a good leader and a formidable opponent against any force.
