Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari, who spent half a year doing rewrites for Marvel's Ant-Man, have joined the writers think tank put together by Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay to pen sequels, prequels and spinoffs for their billion-dollar Transformers film franchise.
Now, sources claim the pair is currently tossing around the idea of an origin story entitled Transformers One, which will take place on the bots home planet of Cybertron. Deadline reports this may be an animated flick, but assure fans that Barrer & Ferrari are also going to the writers room with the expectation they’ll write a live-action Transformers movie as well.
The pair are the latest additions to the Transformers think tank, which also includes the likes of Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 scribe Zak Penn and Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Lost writer Jeff Pinkner, along with head member Akiva Goldsman.
Apparently the plan is to have a new Transformers sequel ready for when Bay completes directing the Benghazi drama 13 Hours and other projects to come right behind that one.
More info as it becomes available.
