We're more than used to seeing Ariel, Jasmine or Merida in their regular form, but what happens when a fan artist completely flips what we know of these characters? We get some seriously cool genderbent artworks! 'Genderbending' involved switching the genders of the characters, turning a male into a female character or vice versa.
One talented artist by the name of Mabychan has completed a pretty awesome set of genderbent artworks, including both Disney and Dreamworks characters. Take a look at the art below, and tell me your favorite in the comments:
Merida is already rather tom-boyish, meaning her transformation into Meraud is pretty flawless!
This male version of Ariel is pretty awesome! Half merman, half human, the fins on the legs are a nice touch - not to mention the dinglehopper!
Damn, Eugenie has attitude! Check out the cheeky expression. She looks a little like Belle from Beauty and the Beast but with a touch more sass. Who else thinks we need more Disney princesses in pants?
if you're going to have a female Flynn Rider then you gotta have a male Rapunzel, right?! I'm getting a slight He-Man vibe from this one, and I'm sure most girls would agree: Rapunzelo has a head of hair to die for!
When your name is Hiccup it's pretty hard to change it to a female version (Hiccuprina?), either way I love this cute version with her sticky-out braids.
No use in having a female Hiccup without a male Astrid! That stern face means business!
Treasure Planet's Jim Hawkins looks no less mischievous and adventurous as a woman than in her original gender, with a staunch hands-on-hips pose, she's ready for anything.
Captain Hook has been sexed up a little, having been genderbent into a female pirate, but she still looks like she would give you one hell of a duel with that sword!
Captain Jacqui Sparrow
Speaking of female pirates, Captain Jackie Sparrow also looks pretty awesome, however, unlike Captain Hook, you might have to keep a bigger eye on the rum when she's around.
Put simply, Esmeraldo looks FABulous!
Male Jasmine is a total babe! I can only imagine how beautiful a female Aladdin might look.
You can just tell Jafari is rotten to the core - that grin is hiding a wholeeee lot.
