While I would argue that tattoos have become more socially acceptable as we have moved deeper into the 21st century, they still get a bad rep overall. A lot of employers don't like them and some people associate them with prisons, drug use, and crime. Obviously, this is an over-generalization and many cool and successful people have tattoos.

This clip from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo perfectly demonstrates the slight disconnect between those who fit the mold in the corporate world and those who do not:

This 'Celebrity Body Art' collection of photos is the work of a bunch of contestants who entered a Worth1000 challenge to do the best they could to seamlessly integrate tattoo designs into celebrity photos.

I think these photos do a good job of using famous female celebrities' bodies as a canvas to successfully normalize tattoos, even in the eyes of the most conservative person who may not be a fan of body modification.
