We've all played arcade video games and come away with differing opinions; the euphoria of smashing the top score, or the anger and shame that comes from smashing the cabinet after failing to hit top score.
But, I bet you have (probably) never played an arcade game like this before. Welcome to the world of Star Wars Battle Pod, which has to be one of the most batshit insane arcade games I've ever seen. And I want a go at it so, so, so bad.
Battle Pod puts you in the cockpit of classic Starfighters such as the X-Wing, Snow Speeder and, naturally, the Millennium Falcon, then thrusts you into iconic battles from Star Wars lore such as the Death Star trench run and the Battle of Hoth.
The pods, shaped like a Rebel pilot and Darth Vader's helmet's contain a huge domed screen, which manages to overwhelm you with action. Think of a mix between IMAX and Oculus Rift.
Here's Kotaku giving the game the once over:
Like what you see? Fancy grabbing one for the living room? Well you can, because Battle Pod's creators Namco Bandai have two different versions of the epic wallet-thinner for sale! The vanilla Battle Pod will set you back a casual $35,000, but if you fancy being a little bit more...fancy, $100,000 gets you the premium edition, with leather seats, carpet and a specially bound owner's manual.
That'll be sure to get you in a trap with the bank. Worth it though. Kinda...
