Since 1996 the Mission Impossible movies have been bringing fans into the theaters and treating them to some adrenaline-pumping fun. Earning over $2 billion revenue worldwide and landing the spot as the 19th highest grossing film series of all time, the Mission Impossible franchise is a truly unstoppable force of nature.
These staggering figures don't even include the upcoming film [Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation](tag:373501), which is sure to make a killing when it's released this summer.
Seeing Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner ( The Avengers), Simon Pegg ( Star Trek Into Darkness), Rebecca Ferguson, and Alec Baldwin (The Departed) together directed by Christopher McQuarrie ( Edge of Tomorrow) is bound to be a worthwhile trip to the movies for any action fan.
The release of the new Mission Impossible isn't even all the news! We may be jumping the gun a bit, but according to The Tracking Board, fans have reason to celebrate already as Paramount is rumored to have Mission Impossible 6 in early development stages. While this has yet to be confirmed by Paramount, I can't imagine they'd be eager to drop the series right as it's kicking into high gear.
There is no word on who of the cast will return for the project, but as long as Cruise can keep up the stunts as Ethan Hunt, I'm a happy camper.
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation will hit theaters on July 31
