I'm addicted to watching and owning movies. I even love to talk about movies when I'm not watching them. I write movies and I make movies.

In light of the recent release of Poltergeist, I got to thinking which movies should be remade. Not to say that I think Poltergeist should have been rebooted, but the original scared the bejeezus out of me, and this new one looks to double that feeling. This was the movie that made me afraid of clowns, not "It". At the same time as watching the original movie, I stayed with my Aunt who had an affinity for clown decorations. Lucky me. Ever since, I get scared and angry around clowns, and this new movie also seems to focus a little bit more on the clown fear people have developed because of its predecessor. Yes I will see the remake, and yes I look forward to it.

Some movie remakes turn out great, and some don't. There are a handful of movies I don't want to be remade, and shouldn't be remade, but I won't talk about those because I don't want anyone getting any stupid ideas. Yes you, Hollywood! But since you insist on "saving money" by remaking movies you already own (sleazy SOBs), and not looking for original work (I personally have some original work that needs developing ;), I compiled a list of thirteen movies that I will allow you to consider rebooting, but you must make it better in some way.

13: Reign of Fire

Man I really love dragons
Man I really love dragons

It's really hard for anyone to make a good dragon movie, and this one I thought would be one of those good ones, but it wasn't. I was bored, and I've watched it all the way through a few times, and I still forget what happens. All I know was some dragon scenes were cool, but it wasn't enough. The rest of the movie was slow. So, if you don't create a great new ORIGINAL dragon movie, then do this one, or the other dragon movie further in the list ;)

12: Spawn

This was still a cool movie
This was still a cool movie

Yeah, I kind of like it as it is, but it could be so much better! I think they should give it another try with a different writer(s) and director. Nothing against the actors. I love everyone in this movie, it could've just gone a different direction.

11: Clash of the Titans

The original. The best.
The original. The best.
Tried so hard, but it wasn't enough.
Tried so hard, but it wasn't enough.

I know they already remade it, and created a sequel. I thought the idea for the sequel was great, but executed very poorly. This was a great idea to rebooted it, but again, executed poorly. It just all went by so fast, and killing the Kraken was far too easy. They took a good solid chunk out of this remake that was in the original. I think this movie needs another chance because I still prefer the original, and I think it could be better.

10: Green Lantern

This poster is even dumb
This poster is even dumb

I'm sure everyone agrees with me on this one. It's all anyone talks about, and I agree. I like Ryan Reynolds as an actor, but this was a bad movie. It was slow, boring, and the visual effects were just...bad. Look at the poster! I'm not sure if Ryan knew it was going to be a bad movie. I'm sure this movie is his version of George Clooney's "Batman and Robin". George still apologizes for that one.

9: The Beastmaster

It was fun...
It was fun...

I haven't seen this movie in forever, but I watched it quite a few times when I was younger. I remember enjoying it, and laughing, but I'm sure this could be a great movie to make now. No one even talks about this movie anymore, and I think it's so cool. bring it back!

8: Fahrenheit 451

I think this is close to being true
I think this is close to being true

I think this is so relevant more now than it was back when it was made. With bookstores closing down because of bankruptcy, and everything becoming digital, books will be pushed out. It's crazy to think that because what if all the power goes out like "Revolution" and we don't have digital stuff? Everyone would wish they had their books. I don't really think we'd get to the point to where books are illegal, but I think this movie should be remade to gain attention nowadays in order to make people aware how important books are to our world.

7: The Last Airbender

That man ruined it
That man ruined it

I loved the cartoon, and got really into it. I was really excited when I found they were turning it into a movie, but then realized it was M. Night Shboobmalon. I had hoped he wouldn't ruin it, but he did. I was extremely disappointed in the film. He changed various things about the characters and stories for no good reason. This movie should be remade and M. Night should be stripped of all rights of making movies for the masses. He can keep making movies, but I don't want to hear about it.

6: Running Man

It was still a good movie
It was still a good movie

This was a great movie, but I feel this is relevant now with all the crazy reality TV stuff that comes on. If they don't remake this for a while, that's fine because it's still good, but I think someone else could take a shot at it and make it even better with a little twist. Hell, Arnold is still around doing remakes and sequels, cast him again, but maybe just put him in as a "stalker".

5: Return to Oz

It was a dark kids movie
It was a dark kids movie

Parts of this movie freaked me out as a kid. Not many people know about this movie, but it's one of Disney's darkest. It was so cool and the characters where so crazy it was great. They need to reboot this movie, or just make another Oz movie that's darker and closer to the books. Those 'Wheelers" and "The Gnome King" could be so creepy now!

4: Soylent Green

Gross
Gross

This is a classic. It took me forever to find out about this movie, but I found it and watch it. It was good, but definitely needs a remake. Charlton Heston isn't the greatest actor, and like the other movies before, this can be more relevant now. The movie "Snowpiercer" was similar, but I think we can make this movie happen. Just maybe add a little unexpected twist to make the remake fully worth it since everyone can discover the surprise ending before they watch the remake.

3: The 7th Voyage of Sinbad

So old
So old

I actually enjoyed this movie too when I saw it, despite all the stop motion. This could be really cool and fun to have this movie remade. It's been long enough time since this one came out, so, why not?

2: Masters of the Universe

AGH!
AGH!

I've been screaming about a remake of this for years! I still own this movie, but it's so bad! I was a huge He-Man fan growing up. I had the cool sword and everything. I remember liking this movie as a kid, but going back to it, I don't know what I was thinking. This lives up to no expectations that I had/have for this movie. I don't know what everyone is waiting for, this movie should already be rebooted or currently in the works. I've read some articles about it being done, but nothing too recently or confirmed. I remember the Bieber movie director was going to direct the reboot of this, but he's not anymore, which is good because that would've freaking sucked. On his Imdb it showed he has only directed music stuff. Someone get on this movie STAT!

1: The Flight of the Dragons

Bet you don't even know about this movie.
Bet you don't even know about this movie.

Like I said earlier, I want a good dragon movie. The world deserves a good dragon movie, and I think this would be the perfect live action remake. It's been forever since this cartoon came out, and I never hear about this movie at all. I grew up loving it, and I still own it! If done right, this could be the greatest dragon movie ever!

That's my list! Come on Hollywood, remake movies that deserve it!

What are your thoughts about my movie selections? Have you heard/seen of all these movies?
