Star Trek's Chris Pine is reportedly being circled by Warner Bros. to have a supporting role in their upcoming Wonder Woman stand alone film.

Reports say that the role in question is that of Steve Trevor, the man who first discovers Wonder Woman and reveals her to the world. Steve Trevor was a pilot who crash lands on Paradise Island, the home of Wonder Woman. When Trevor crashes on Paradise Island, he is cared for by the Amazonian Princess Diana (Wonder Woman), the two fall in love and Diana goes back to our world with Trevor as Diana Prince.

I have become a huge fan of Chris Pine in recent years, he really blew me away in both of his Star Trek films as Captain James T. Kirk. He's also been very good in films such as Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Stretch.

I think this is great casting if it turns out to be true, Pine's a fantastic actor and his involvement may help elevate the project as Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) isn't the most established or talented actress.

Months ago rumors started that Pine was being courted to play Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern, a role which I would much prefer to see him in. But if these Wonder Woman reports are true then sadly it doesn't look like he would be our Green Lantern.

Rumors surrounding next years Suicide Squad film also had Scott Eastwood playing Steve perhaps not? I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

El Mayimbe over at Heroic Hollywood revealed that Wonder Woman in this new DC Universe is hundreds of years old, much similar to how Thor is in the MCU. She's an old character but will first be introduced to the world in [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) next year. There are rumors that the Wonder Woman stand alone film will be a period piece, much like the first Captain America film.

If these rumors turn out to be true? Then are you happy with Chris Pine playing Steve Trevor or do you want to see him as Green Lantern? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @JamesPorter97
