There's a lot to be said for how far along CGI has come, and San Andreas has definitely pushed the limits as far as they could take it. The epic cityscape destruction and mayhem almost comes across as real. It's basically eye porn for the destruction enthusiasts.

While it lacks in plot, the genuineness of the actors helps carry the movie through to the awkwardly patriotic end.

If you're looking for a movie to shut your brain of to, and have already seen Mad Max: Fury Road, this is the best option that's currently in the theaters.

Rating: PG-13 (for intense disaster action and mayhem throughout, and brief strong language)
