Guardians of The Galaxy instantly became one of the most profitable films for Marvel and one of their most critically acclaimed. Fans are patiently waiting on the sequel set to be released in 2017 and many wonder who the next cosmic baddie the Guardians will face next. Coming straight from the twitter of the director of Guardians of The Galaxy, one character has been ruled out for this film, and for a long time coming.

Director James Gunn was asked if Cosmic genius Kang the Conqueror was owned by Fox, which Gunn confirmed was in fact correct. This is quite unfortunate because Kang is a great enemy of both The Avengers and Guardians of The Galaxy. It would have been great to see Kang face off against the Guardians of The Galaxy or The Avengers, but does Fox have plans for the character?

Why does Fox own Kang?

If you understand Kang the Conqueror's origin it actually makes sense as to why he is part of Fox's universe. Kang is a cosmic genius from the 30th century, upon discovering Victor Von Doom's time travelling technology Kang travels to the 20th century. Without the Fantastic 4 Kang the Conqueror would not exist, this causes one to think if Fox will feature Kang if there is a Fantastic 4 sequel. It would be pretty cool to see the new Fantastic 4 facing off against Kang, unfortunately The Avengers wont be a part of it.

Are you disappointed we wont see Kang in the MCU? What do you think Fox may do with him? Let me know down below in the comments!
