In the early hours of Sunday morning, a man was driving home when he came across a lonely hooded figure, standing alone in the center of Lake Road Cessnock, Australia. It seems that the man had a premeditated idea of scaring motorists that night, for reasons that remain unclear.

The incident was recorded on the driver's dashboard video camera, you can see that the man stands still and he doesn't even acknowledge the car until he becomes level with the window of the driver's door.

The foreboding man then begins to make growling and dog barking-like sounds, when he is just centimeters away from the driver, which understandably frightens him, and he speeds away.

Shaken, the man driving the vehicle hurriedly attempted to contact his wife and her friend who were traveling not far behind him, heading in the same direction.

After several frantic attempts to contact them, he couldn't get through, and found out later his wife and friend also fell victim to the hooded stranger.

One of the women said of her ordeal:

‘‘I almost stopped before I could go around this guy, and as we went past he just lunged at our door."

‘‘We still don’t know what he was trying to do, whether he was trying to rob us, was he trying to take our car or was he trying to hurt us.”

This story has all the qualities for a great horror movie: a crazy stranger, a remote location, and the pitch darkness! But, if you have ever seen Wolf Creek, which is based on a true story, it makes the video seem all that more sinister!

Wolf Creek is based on a story of three young people who, when their car breaks down, end up asking the wrong guy for help. Gory murder scenes including severed spines and sliced off fingers are a plenty, after seeing that movie, you wouldn't catch me motoring down the long deserted roads of Australia and I wouldn't like to see someone standing in the middle of the road, that's for sure!

Take a look at the trailer for Wolf Creek and see what I mean. It could have gotten a whole lot worse had the hooded stranger managed to get into one of the cars!
