Lara Croft returns in Rise of the Tomb Raider. This trailer shows us just how far Lara will go to discover the world's hidden treasures. Tomb Raider is back with a bang!

Lara Croft is back courtesy of Square Enix in Rise of the Tomb Raider. This latest trailer is setting us up for the grande reveal at E3 this coming June. Croft will not only have to overcome the extremes that mother nature can throw at her but face up to challenges and powers that even she will struggle to overthrow.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was first announced as an Xbox exclusive but Playstation and PC fans be advised this is not a permanent exclusivity deal. What is likely to happen is for Microsoft to release first on XBOX One and follow that up with release across the remaining platforms some time after. Patience is a virtue and that.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the 2015 sequel to the 2013 reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise from developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix.

This second game picks up the story following the events of the first game and after Gail Simone's Tomb Raider comic book series.

Rise of the Tomb Raider promises to feature epic, high-octane action moments and heart pounding scenarios that will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with vast exploration spaces that are some of the most beautiful but hostile places on earth.

This is a sequel to a very well-received game, but the trailer below released last year goes a long way to showing the viewer that Croft is on a journey, not just another random adventure. The things she does, and the people she kills, have a long term impact on her as a person. She’s learning to do amazing things, and she’s going to amazing places, but there’s a very real cost to her body and mind. Can she handle her next adventure?

Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch in September (ish) exclusively first for Xbox One and Xbox 360 and will likely follow onto PS4, PS3 and PC later into the Christmas period. (fingers crossed)
