According to We Are Wakanda, a new Hulk will be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. In the article, they claim that their sources are telling them that a new Hulk would be due to show up soon - and cited the image above as options - but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), they aren't willing to directly spoil the reveal. Well, we also have a friend close to the set that can corroborate this and if you're into that sort of thing, we'll spoil it for you. More on that later, first some speculation.

Red Hulk

While "soon" could mean any number of films, their unwillingness to mention which film coupled with WAW's recent behind the scenes access to Captain America: Civil War makes it pretty obvious they are talking about Civil War. With William Hurt's official re-entry into the MCU as General Thunderbolt Ross in Civil War and speculation of a Thunderbolts team on the horizon (Zemo, Osborn, Ross...come on), it makes even more sense that that we could be seeing the Red Hulk soon. Bruce Banner's Hulk is currently MIA by his own choosing after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, introducing Red Hulk would be a sure fire way to give Bruce a reason to come out of hiding.

Sure, Red Hulk seems like the logical choice, but why not Jennifer Walters a.k.a. She-Hulk? Even with Jessica Jones due to appear in her own show on Netflix later this year and a Captain Marvel solo film scheduled for 2018, there is still a pretty big need for more female Marvel characters to be introduced on the big screen. The biggest question mark would be how to introduce a character like She-Hulk with little or no exposition, in a movie that is already introducing Black Panther, Spider-Man and Baron Zemo. Surely she could be involved in whatever legal proceedings are going on in the film, but how could that ever lead to her Hulk-ing out? As much as I'd love to see her introduced, I don't think it will be anytime in Phase 3.

The other characters shown in the image would be cool to see sure, but none really make sense in the current scope of the MCU. It would be hard to introduce Red She-Hulk without Walters and Ross established, plus it seems likely Betty Ross (Red She-Hulk in the comics) won't be back anytime soon, so that's out. Lyra makes absolutely no sense, and Skaar would make even less sense without Planet Hulk having already taken place. So our clear standouts are Red Hulk and She-Hulk, with the former being the more obvious choice.

Well, here's what we heard..

Potential Spoilers Below!

Somebody close to production has reached out and informed us that General Thunderbolt Ross will indeed be Hulk-ing out in Civil War. Additionally, as Bleeding Cool reported, Bruce Banner WILL be involved and I'm hearing there is a fight between Hulk and Red Hulk that is supposed to rival the Hulkbuster fight from Age of Ultron. Generally we don't report on unsubstantiated rumors from unknown sources, but now that we at least have WAW's scoop to compare it to, it seems a lot more likely and thus worth reporting on as a rumor.

We reached out to Marvel for confirmation, but as of now our request has gone without reply.
