JUST DO IT

When a green screen video of Shia LaBeouf screaming into the camera hit the web last week, I knew it wasn't going to be long until someone had some fun with it. A few days, a couple subreddits, and dozens of hilarious videos later, MotivatSHIAn is becoming one of the biggest sources of laughter for the online community. Almost anyone with decent video editing software that is capable of utilizing a green screen is trying their best to implant Shia LaBeouf into various situations, and the results range from mildly amusing to downright hilarious. For those of you who aren't familiar with this new craze, this is the original clip that started it all:

This clip is just a small part of a 31-minute production called . This is not Shia LaBeouf improvising his lines. He was actually scripted and directed here as part of a collaboration with Central Saint Martins, a London arts college. Each student in the class was asked to:

“Submit a piece of text lasting up to 30 seconds or no more than 100 words. This can be as poetic, abstract or literal as you like — with the emphasis on expressing the feeling and tone of the work being introduced.”

Apparently Shia LaBeouf ended up performing 36 of these scripts in one day's worth of shooting, with the stand out performance being his "JUST DO IT" segment. Everything was shot in front of a green screen on purpose, and by putting a creative commons license on the video, it allowed anyone to edit it in any way they saw fit.

With all that said, here are some YouTube creations to put a smile on your face today.
