The upcoming science fiction thriller "Rupture" could be a real treat for sci-fi fans and fans of Noomi Rapace who will be headlining the picture as a woman who is kidnapped by a group of individuals who try to unlock a different side of her that could reveal her true nature. Rapace is known for her roles in many Swedish films and for her iconic role in Prometheus, she is not a stranger to the sci-fi genre which looks like it could become one of her main staples. The film is being directed by Steven Shaineberg who also had a hand in crafting the screenplay.

Here's the plot synopsis:

In the film, Renee Morgan (Rapace) is a single mom who lives with her 12-year-old son, Evan, in a quiet suburban home. Unbeknownst to both, their every move is being observed. While running her daily errands her car breaks down and she is violently kidnapped by a group of strangers. About 24 hours later, in an anonymous laboratory, she is tied up and questioned about her medical history, including her great fear of spiders. Soon her captors explain to her that her genetic abnormality can potentially allow her to Rupture, in which her own alien nature can be released. The experience of one’s deepest fear (in Renee’s case spiders) causes this transforming her into her true self.

Based on that synopsis you might think that this is shaping up to be another abduction/conspiracy movie where the main character is caught in the randomly middle. There are also the implications of her character's fear of spiders and how there was a segment where a transformation was discussed, Will Rapace be transformed into a giant spider? probably not, but it would be fun if that did happen. There might be some of kind of philosophical or existential question asked in this movie so you might have a field day trying to figure out what the overall message is.
