These couples have blurred the lines between human and occult relations. Proving that it doesn't matter if you belong from the same species, but how much you love each other (and that you mostly resemble each other, lol). While they're not uncommon, these specific eight couples represent a perfect example for others on how to properly nurture and endear their significant others.

8. Johnny and Mavis

This feels so...right.
This feels so...right.

Mavis is a vampire and Johnny's a human. Yet when they saw each other for the first time and zinged, they immediately fell head over heels. They opened up the world for one another. Johnny introduced Mavis to things she hadn't experienced in her 118 years of existence; such as a sunset, and she helped him fit in the monster realm. In Hotel Transylvania 2 they've since married and had a son. Aww, how lovely.

7. Danny Phantom and Sam Manson

Danny and Sam
Danny and Sam

Through a lab accident Danny's DNA is spliced with a spector's and he's consequently endowed with ghostly powers . Sam is an ultra-recyclo-vegetarian, goth chick who's biologically as "normal" as can be. In the series premiere they're best friends, but it's hinted early on that there's something more. She proves to be a competent ally as she and their friend Tucker assist him in his superhero escapades.

Hang on Sam
Hang on Sam

Despite Danny possessing these incredible abilities Sam ends up defending him the most. Both also saved each other's butts from time to time. It isn't till the season finale when they come out clean about their sentiments and become boyfriend and girlfriend.

6. Finn and Flame Princess

Flame Princess, Flame and Finn the Human
Flame Princess, Flame and Finn the Human

When Finn was heartbroken over his unrequited crush on Princess Bubblegum his friend Jake went on a search to find a potential suitor. This is where Flame Princess came in. Unfortunately, Jake didn't realize initially that she was evil until it was too late and hurried back to warn him. Despite initial confusion they grow fond of one another and become an item. Aware she's a dangerous force to be reckoned Finn accommodated her potentially harmful powers and convinced her she wasn't sinister.

They went on dates and adventures together and or with Jake till their break up. You blew it Finn!

5. Haku and Chihiro

Is your boyfriend a dragon? I don't think so
Is your boyfriend a dragon? I don't think so

A whiny and spoiled ten year old girl named Chihiro is trapped in the spirit world after she and her parents wonder aimlessly into it. There she meets Haku, a boy who's slightly older (and obscurely familiar) right before her folks turn into pigs. He returns to help a distraught Chihiro and gets her set up in a bathhouse run by a cruel witch named Yubaba. He indirectly causes her to become independent, altruistic and brave, as she finds a way for her and her parents to return back.

4. Leela and Fry

Fry indirectly went one thousand years ahead in the future (multiple times) to meet the love of his life Leela (a mutant). At first she was irritated by his ignorance and lack of grooming, yet as the series progressed she grew to admire him for his compassion, sincerity and genuine kindness.

3. Robin and Starfire

Watching the stars
Watching the stars

An extra-terrestrial princess and superhero, Starfire and Robin felt butterflies in their stomachs when they first met. Yet, they kept their feelings secret until the series movie finale Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo. Robin helps Starfire adjust to life on Earth and she opens him up emotionally. Through out the TV show they share intimate moments, conversations and always jump into action when one of them is in peril.

Kissing in the rain
Kissing in the rain

Their bond is genuine and they truly care about each other, and don't let anything or anyone get in their way.

2. Belle and the Beast

Hold still!
Hold still!

To save her father Belle takes his place as the Beast's eternal prisoner. He tries to socialize, but his boorish attitude keeps pushing her away. Eventually, curiosity gets the best of Belle and she explores a prohibited part of his castle. While there she discovers a hovering rose and attempts to touch it before he intervenes and tells her to leave. She ends up stranded in the woods when a posse of wolves (I blame public schools) lunge at her just as he shows up and stops them. From there Belle warms up to him and a beautiful ardor blooms.

I had to let her go. Because...I love her
I had to let her go. Because...I love her

As the result of a curse, the Beast transformed from a human to a werewolf/buffalo type monster. Through Belle he becomes less self entitled and understands to appreciate the needs of others. She also realizes to not judge a book by its cover.

1. Greg Universe and Rose

One of their final smooches
One of their final smooches

Greg was performing at a concert where the only one in attendance was Rose, an alien creature known as a crystal gem. They immediately hit it off, but there were rocky bumps in their relationship such as: the other gems learning to accept/tolerate him, Rose realizing what it truly means to be in a romantic union with a human and occasional differences regarding their species.

From flashbacks and stories it appears they were madly in love and inseparable. However, it was an equally dark and optimistic day when Rose gave up her physical form to give birth to their son Steven.
