Luke Mitchell Upgraded To Series Regular In Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
When Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for it's third season, it will see Luke Mitchell promoted to a series regular.
Mitchell played Lincoln, an Inhuman with the ability to manipulate electricity and served as a friend and mentor to Skye after getting her powers and arriving at Afterlife, the Inhuman community.
"Luke proved a valuable addition to our cast in Season 2, and after seeing him light up the screen with his charisma we knew we had to have him back for more. Our writers have come up with big plans for the character of Lincoln in our next season, and we can't wait for fans to see everything we have in store."
Jeph Loeb, executive producer, tells Marvel.com.
We last saw Lincoln helping out S.H.I.E.L.D. when Afterlife leader Jiaying (Dichen Lachman), Skye's birth mother, launched an attack on the S.H.I.E.L.D. carrier and teamed up with Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) against a fellow Inhuman who can replicate herself.
Mitchell will join fellow series regulars; Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse.
Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) embarks on a deadly new secret mission to protect the world from new threats in the wake of SHIELD's wars with Hydra and a rogue faction of Inhumans.
No word yet on what role he will pay now but considering Coulson tasked Skye with putting together a team of super powered people, it's more than likely that he will be joining Skye on that mission.
Season Three of Agents of SHIELD will return to ABC on Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
