"The Martial Arts Kid" has been building buzz and winning boxfuls of awards for a few months now and it's cast and crew couldn't be happier that the film is being recognized and well received.
None with more passion than Brandon Tyler Russell.
"I absolutely LOVE that people dig the film", exclaims Russell, who plays Lenny, the best buddy of Robbie, the titular "Kid" in the film. "I think it has a really good and important message in it. It's a wonderful family film and I could not be happier with the reactions it has been receiving."
Russell feels the film is relateable to and resonates so strongly with critics and preview audiences because of it's strong anti-bullying message/
"The message in it is really important", says Russell. "I think it sits so well with people because it's about bullying and reflects on the topic of bullying as well as loving your family."
"The Martial Arts Kid" is co-headlined by martial arts/action movie legends Don "The Dragon" Wilson and Cynthia Rothrock, who play the uncle and aunt of the titular "Kid", who is played by Jansen Panettiere, with Kathryn Newton playing his love interest and Matthew Ziff playing the bully who torments him.
"The Martial Arts Kid" is scheduled to hit theaters this summer.
