What kind of an incredible year for Video Games is this?! Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 only two months apart and now we hear that Fallout 4 is getting an announcement today?! The gaming gods have been kind in 2015. In all seriousness though, Bloodborne is probably the greatest JRPG I've ever engaged with - and the only game that I've ever played which upon finishing I jumped straight into a New Game Plus for. I've done that three times now and I'll probably do it again once The Witcher 3 has exhausted all of my energy.

Bloodborne also happens to be one of the only games that I've desperately desired DLC for. I want the biggest expansion that From Software are prepared to give us and I'm willing to pay far too much to get it. From, have already confirmed the existence of an expansion pack, but what can we really anticipate them to create for us? If Dark Souls 2 can be taken as an indicator of what to expect, I think we're all in for a great time!

Could the Bloodborne Expansion DLC Be Similar to Dark Souls 2's On its Release Date?

I've yet to get around to replaying Dark Souls 2 in the form of [Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin](tag:2768294) on PS4 or XBOX One - be sure to inform me of its awesomeness in the comments! But since its initial release date in 2014, Dark souls 2 has received expansions in the form of "Crown of the Sunken King," "Crown of the Old Iron King" and "Crown of the Ivory King." To all those that have yet to engage with Dark Souls 2, not only is the game itself completely worth your time, but it actually gets better in its expansions.

From Software have mastered the Dark Souls series - I hear that Dark Souls 3 is to be announced at E3 this year, another masterpiece to look forward to then - their DLC is indicative of their complete understanding of what makes this series so enjoyable and successful. The areas that each expansion has introduced have been vast and beautifully crafted to fit into their enormous and deep worlds.

But let's look at the first DLC pack that Dark Souls 2 received to give us an indication of what we can expect in Bloodborne. Crown of the Sunken King, introduced a whole new area that players were teleported to. In this area, there are five different locations that you can explore, all of which are packed with seven new kinds of enemies to encounter. There were also three new bosses in the game, however the final one was actually 3 in 1!

From Software are a company that knows how to make exceptional DLC. Their expansions for the Dark Souls series have improved upon certain aspects of the main game as well as giving players more of what they love. They're equally as challenging - if not more difficult - and are in no way inferior to the original product. In fact, Dark Souls 2 is probably a much better game in the form of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First, I need to buy that game!

Bloodborne's expansion DLC will be amazing people - I really don't think we have to worry about that. I'm just hoping that it doesn't draw on the chalice dungeons, as I'm really not too happy about that part of the game. If it's an extension on the world of Yharnam, that's all I've ever wanted. I can't wait to play whatever From Software and Miyazaki dream up! We just have to wait for that release date announcement now...

Bloodborne for game of the year!!!
