It's no secret that iZombie's season finale is one of the biggest things on the CW right now, especially since its comic book show cousins Arrow and The Flash ended their seasons on such a high note (a lot of Arrow fans, including myself, were not greatly satisfied with the Season 3 finale but another time, another time).

I knew I'd love iZombie as soon as I watched the trailer for the show but like the other potential fans, I was quite leery. How would the writers keep the show interesting if it's just about a zombie girl eating brains and solving crime? After every episode, the case would be closed and there wouldn't be much left in the story to tell. Lucky for us viewers, we were in for quite a surprise.

If you've been keeping up with the show, you know that what seemed like a simple story on the surface turned out to have a complex plot with elements of humor and horror mixed in. Whether it's Ravi getting close to a cure for "zombiism" or Major finding out about zombies' existence and swearing to kill them all (in front of Liv!!!), the show has been throwing some major plot twists our way....plot twists I definitely was not ready for (when Liv had to tell Peyton about how she was a zombie, I nearly died).

I love how the writers on iZombie not only focus on Liv and her adventures in the morgue and the police station, but also on the effects the lake massacre had on the zombie population in Seattle. They have also created a great three dimensional villain, whose presence and influence in Liv's "life" (for lack of a better term) in the ongoing story arc, creates a motivation for her to destroy him and his associates before they wreak further havoc in the city. Over the last few episodes, Liv's palpable desperation to end his life intensifies and is definitely what I'm looking forward to see potentially in the finale (I mean, Liv has killed once already when she's gone "full on zombie mode", what's stopping her now?)

Although I'm hoping that the Season 1 finale can tie up some loose ends (what's going to happen to Major at the meat shop? Will Peyton accept Liv?? What will become of the poor drummer at the end of the last episode??? The suspense is killing me, seriously!), I'm also looking forward to seeing how iZombie will keep the door open for Season 2's story line. Check out the trailer for the season finale below!
