The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Shining. Two zany and outrageous cult classics by equally as zany and outrageous famous directors—why not mash them up?!
Well, because that'd be certifiably insane. Sure they're both amazing films, but Stanley Kubrick's supernatural and eerie adaption about a man going wacko in a possessed hotel is nothing like Wes Anderson's hilarious epic about a concierge and a bell boy framed for murder and theft. Why, the only thing they share is the fact that they both take place in a hotel.
But that was enough of a comparison for YouTuber Steve Ramsden, who also noticed that Anderson and Kubrick framed their shots in a very similar way for these two films.
Steve deserves an award for his amazing and crazy mash-up video 'Wes Anderson's The Shining'! Watch it below to see what I'm talking about.
Not only does the mash-up look great, it perfectly displays the tone of both of these films! Seriously, I'm actually disappointed that this isn't a real film.
What do you think of the mash-up?
