Netflix Inc. is the online streaming giant that has disrupted the entertainment industry in a short span of time. The company provides the best and unlimited offerings of online video content services. Its mission was to ‘cut the cords’ of viewers and so far succeeded in doing so.
The company is expanded in almost 50 countries or more, along with surpassing 60 million paid subscribers on its platform. Hence, as its expansion program continues, the company is focusing more on what it promised from its first day; i.e. it will become HBO quicker before HBO becomes Netflix.
It seems as if the company is now more focused to make it happen as well. The online streaming giant wants to make its own original content and programming in both, online movies and TV shows. In order to properly advertise and promote it amongst the masses, it has chosen to use its own platform, which is the largest paid subcribers platform.
Before every show or movie that a viewer streams on Netflix, they will be required to wait and sit through an ad or a promo. This process is already started and it is believed that the ads are only Netflix oriented, such as there will be a promo regarding a new season of ‘Orange is the New Black’ or ‘Marvel's Daredevil’. Therefore, as soon as news came out regarding Netflix showing advertisements before and after its shows, third party advertisers seemed interested to catch on that.
Netflix's spokesperson along with the CEO, Reed Hastings, assured everyone that it would neither welcome nor appreciate any third party advertisements on its platform. Joris Evers stated regarding Netflix advertisements and third party advertisers, "Calm down: no ads coming onto Netflix. Period. Just testing relevant trailers for other Netflix titles you may love."
Furthermore, Netflix said, "We are not planning to test or implement advertising on the Netflix service. For some time, we have teased Netflix originals with short trailers after a member finishes watching a show. Some members in a limited test now are seeing teases before a show begins. We test hundreds of potential improvements to the service every year. Many never extend beyond that."
Netflix, without a doubt, is the best streaming service for people to subscribe. The company has promised that it will make users' money worth every penny with its original content that it will own and produce in the coming times.
