"She came out of nowhere and told me that I inspired her."
Lady Jakeru Frost

Cosplaying is often a zero sum game. Weeks of work, that ends in no return.
That hasn't stopped, or even slowed down Georgia's Lady Jakeru Frost. Taking inspiration from Eartha Kitt, she goes forth as one of an ever growing legion of cosplayers teaching us that true fandom doesn't recognize race or ethnicity.

Comic Book Illuminati:
What's your best cosplay moment?

Lady Jakeru Frost:
My best cosplay moment so far, was doing the Street Fighter Cosplay group shoot at AWA13. It was actually the first group shoot I have ever done and made some cosplay friends from it. The photos turned out pretty epic.

Comic Book Illuminati:
Have you been approached filmmakers?

Lady Jakeru Frost:
I have not been approached by filmmakers, however, it would be great if I did. I often visualized myself as multiple different characters, fighting or reenacting certain scenes from their series. I do enjoy live action films such as Street Fighter: Assassin's First and Mortal Kombat: Legacy. I also enjoy watching the Thousand Pound Ultra Combo series on YouTube, where a couple professionals make up and act out their own special combos based off the Ultra Street Fighter video game. Yes, I am sucker for live-action web series.

Comic Book Illuminati:
Have you ever been recognized out of "uniform"?

Lady Jakeru Frost:
I'm actually not sure if I have been recognized out of cosplay. I say that because I have had random moments at cons where a few con-goers approached me for photos while in regular attire. I smile and take the photos anyway, but before I get to ask why or if they recognize me from anywhere they'd disappear [laughs]. There was a recent experience with a young female who surprised me when she came out of nowhere and told me that I inspired her. I was shocked, confused but happy knowing I made someone feel good about themselves.

Comic Book Illuminati:
What's your best personal nerdgasm story?

Lady Jakeru Frost:
Best nerdgasm story was at WizardWorld Atlanta 2014. I attended the convention with my partner, and we were mainly hyped to snap a photo with Stan Lee. We both wore our best Marvel apparel and when it was our time to take the photos, Stan Lee noticed our Marvel t-shirts and complimented us for them.

*SENPAI NOTICED*

It was only for about 5 seconds, but the experience was worth those 5 seconds to be standing next to a great creator of universes like Stan Lee.
