Star Wars: Battlefront has been a pretty controversial topic within the gaming community since EA and DICE unveiled its trailer at the Star Wars celebration. Pretty incredible considering the fact that we've yet to see any form of actual gameplay, but we've come to expect this sort of thing. In any case, E3 is due to contain the big Star Wars: Battlefront reveal we've all been waiting for and I can't wait to hopefully give it a try at Gamescom later this year.
But seeing as space battles are out of the question on Battlefront's release date, the next best thing we have to look forward to are the heroes and villains we'll be able to take charge of. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 had an astounding line-up of famous characters to wreak havoc as, but naturally I'm curtailing my expectations for a huge character roster in DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront. But who are the ultimate players you want in-game? Here's our list of heroes and villains we want on release date!
Star Wars: Battlefront - Our List of Desired Heroes & Villains!
Yep, I went there! We had 18 heroes and villains in Star Wars: Battlefront II, though granted the previous game included the clone wars. With Darth Vader and Boba Fett already confirmed, there are only so many characters left in the old films that are worthy of being heroes or villains in Star Wars: Battlefront. Personally, due to a sort of comic relief, I would love to see Admiral Ackbar running around the battlefield kicking ass. It would be absolutely ridiculous - and probably out of place - but who cares?! The heart wants what the heart wants!
I guess we couldn't have a heroes and villains collection without the most important character in the original trilogy - even if it is a bit of a boring choice. Luke Skywalker is basically already confirmed due to his importance in the series, but he's not exactly as big a selling point as his father, Darth Vader...oh...spoiler alert?
Ian McDiarmid was the only good thing about the new Star Wars trilogy in my mind, or at least he was the only consistent character with the most clear ideology and motivation. He was just a mad man - and who doesn't want to kill a lot of people on the battlefield (or should I say 'battlefront'?!...sorry) as a complete mad man? The Emperor will surely be in Star Wars: Battlefront and we hope someone nails that voice acting!
How could we make a list without this loveable, walking rug? I really hope DICE and EA had the foresight to give him the ability to absolutely whack the shit out of stormtroopers with the back of his hand. Unlikely, but we'll see what happens. We have faith that we'll see Chewy rendered in the Snowdrop Engine come release date!
Lando is undoubtedly one of the best characters realised by the mind of George Lucas. He's a total badass in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and beautifully played Billy Dee Williams. We'd love to see him running around the battlefield, but with planets like Hoth, Endor, Tatooine and Sullust being playable, which planet would he be best suited to appear on?
Darth Vader: "I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner; now *I* am the master."
Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi: "Only a master of evil, Darth."[lightsabers clash]
Princess Leia is still one of the toughest female characters in the history of cinema and man did I have a crush on her as a kid! But I wonder whether DICE are going to do justice to the voices of all of these characters in Star Wars: Battlefront. Will Princess Leia actually sound as cool as Carrie Fisher? Will their be the same bite in her lines as their was when she delivered, "Governor Tarkin, I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash. I recognised your foul stench when I was brought on board."
The man we all wanted to be - and still kinda do. Harrison Ford is still exceptional as the devilishly handsome, and wickedly witty, Han Solo. His appearance in Star Wars: Battlefront is basically confirmed due to the fact that [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158) has us insanely excited to see him in action once more after hearing him say, "Chewie - we're home."
With that, we come to the end of our list. I wish I could have included the likes of Jar Jar Binks, Qui Gon Jin and Nute Gunray - but sadly they won't covered *sigh*. Be sure to let us know what other heroes and villains you'd like to see in [Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021) on its release date on November 17th, 2015.
