So I think most of us can agree that we loved both 'Thor' films- the special effects, the plot-twists, the characters- you just can't help love them. I almost love them as much as I love their cast, there is just something about Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman that just makes them fit in their respective roles, making the films even more enjoyable (if that's even possible). However, I couldn't help myself, below is my own fan cast, the cast I would have loved to see it Chris Hemsworth and the others hadn't already stolen my heart...
Orlando Bloom as Thor
He may be somewhat lacking in the muscle department when compared to Chris Hemsworth but there's something about how he portrays the nobel Legolas in 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' and Will Turner in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' that makes me believe that he just might be worthy of picking up Mjolnir.
Sam Claflin as Loki
You may know him as Finnick Odair from 'Catching Fire' and 'Mockingjay', Sam Claflin has just the right mixture of humour and fight to truly play this mischievous villain.
Emma Watson as Jane Foster
I think this one was the most obvious choice, having portrayed the lovable know-it-all, Hermione Granger, in all eight Harry Potter films Emma Watson would fit into the role of Jane Foster rather nicely, though I hope she finally got her priorities right.
David Tennant as Erik Selvig
Having already been cast as the iconic Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, David Tennant would be the best candidate to explain all that "wibbily wobbly timey wimey stuff", especially after Loki has had a little fun messing with his head.
Lisa Kudrow as Darcy Lewis
Lisa Kudrow, in all the years she portrayed Phoebe Buffay, had never failed to make audiences around the world (whether it was whilst singing 'Smelly Cat' or whilst using here alias 'Regina Phalange') lough, making her just the right person to portray the loveable and humorous Darcy Lewis.
Eddie Redmayne as Ian Boothby
The adorable Eddie Redmayne is just the right man to play Ian Boothby. Although seemly inexperienced in the comedy genre he has recently been cast as Newt Scamander in the upcoming 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' film and, if he can play Newt Scamander, he'd be perfect to play Ian.
Johnny Depp as Agent Coulson
Okay, let's be honest, Johnny Depp could play any of these roles, he's just that great an actor but I always imagined him being cast as Agent Coulson. Although he's generally serious he has his moments of humour which would be greatly portrayed by Depp.
Lucy Lawless as Lady Sif
I admit, I got this idea from the film itself when they called Lady Sif 'Xena'. That got me thinking, who could play her better then the Warrior princess herself? Lucy Lawless has proven that if she played the role of Lady Sif the gates of Hel would be filled with the screams of her victims!
Chris Pine as Fandral
Chris Pine portrayed the dashing (and charming!) trouble-making prince in 'Into the Woods'. You know who's both dashing and a trouble maker, especially when Thor's around? Fandral!
Richard Armitage as Volstagg
When Richard Armitage portrayed Thorin Oakenshield in all 'The Hobbit' films we learnt two things;
1. He knows how to fight.
2. He can really pull off a beard.
Thus making him the ideal actor to play Volstagg.
Jeremy Irons as Odin
I cannot look at Jeremy Irons and not remember his portrayal of Brom in 'Eragon'. Having trained one of the most famous Dragon Rider's in Alagaësia, ruling Asgard would be just another notch in his belt.
Here an interesting fact about Irons- he was the voice actor of Scar in Lion King!
Cate Blanchett as Frigga
Yes, another Lord of the Ring actor (or,in this case, actress) makes my list but, in my defence, after seeing how Cate Blanchett portrayed the just yet powerful Galadriel would you blame me for casting her as Frigga?
