Sugar, spice, and everything nice will be mixed together once again on Cartoon Network, as the channel has now unveiled our VERY FIRST LOOK at their new and improved powerpuff girls. The rebooted series will still have the classic Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup fighting to protect Townsville, and the mayor as the narrator, but any other characters are yet to be cast or confirmed to be returning for the reboot.
Amanda Leighton, Kristen Li and Natalie Palamides voice Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup with Tom Kenny returning to his role as Narrator/Mayor.
Blossom's bow is now the same size as she is, while Bubbles has new larger-shaped ponytails, and Buttercup has an odd little lick of hair sticking up to break the domed head of hers. This doesn't seem like that big of a change, but with so many people being upset over changing childhood characters, it seems as if any minuscule detail these days can spark an all-out rebellion.
"It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property. We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime." ~ Chief Content Officer Rob Sorcher of Cartoon Network
But what will the mayor of Townsville, Professor Utonium, Mojo Jojo, HIM, and the Boogie Man, and everyone else look like? Will they even still be in it? Obviously, we still have much to wait for. What do you think of the new Powerpuff Girls? Too much Chemical X maybe? Tell us in the comments below!
Expect to see the new Powerpuff Girls show next year, 2016, airing on the Cartoon Network!
