Werewolves, vampires, mermaids... they're all pretty ubiquitous vaguely human-like creatures in pop culture these days. A lot of people enjoy watching them on the big screen as well as the small screen, but some people take that enjoyment to the next level.

I'm talking about people who have put the onus on themselves to make sure that they look like those same characters depicted in movies and on TV... all the time, full-time. Some people go to extreme lengths to make it happen.

Like these folks!

This dude, Mark Edwards

This guy took cosplay to the extreme and actually was way off-base here with his victim blaming pedophilia. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison after performing as a cult-like leader who fancied himself as some type of werewolf warrior. He was charged with the following, according to Dayton Daily News.

Edwards had pleaded guilty June 9 to seven counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, third-degree felonies. He had faced up to 35 years in prison. As a sex offender, he will have to register with the local sheriff’s office for 25 years.

He was delusional, arguing that he wasn't the one who made the sexual advances on a 14-year-old girl. Of course, Edwards at 44-years-old had more control over any sexual situations that may have arisen.

Let's be clear: there's nothing wrong with going hard on cosplay but there is when you're being extremely creepy about it.

These vampires, Vanian and Ethereal Dark

Vanian, once again much older than his female counterpart here, is 53-years-old. His life-mate is Ethereal Dark, 27, from Manchester and the two say they are vampires.

The couple say they want other people to be more accepting of them. Although they do drink blood, they only take it from each other. Which is fair enough, I don't even think there is anything illegal about that.

They say that many of the myths associated with vampires are completely wrong. They say that they're fans of True Blood but not of the Twilight Saga.

Interesting. Not my style, but interesting.

We got a real life mermaid up in here and her name is Hannah Fraser (a.k.a. Hannah Mermaid)

I can't explain this one as well as this video can, so take a look and see for yourself and how this incredible woman lives her life.

If you notice, these are all news items in local areas, simply due to the fact that this is definitely news. There's no crime here other than having too big of an imagination - which, to be fair, is no crime at all.

Do you, girl.
