When I first saw the trailer for Younger I wasn't sure I was gonna be in for the whole ride. But I was definitely intrigued.

Then I saw the pilot that night of March and I realized, I'm hooked!

Younger is not only a wonderful story of self-discovery for all ages, but also a story about empowerment and the fact that each of us have the strength to write our own stories, even when we don't recognize it.

If you didn't know about Younger, then you are missing out on something great. One of those rare unicorns that are seldomly on television nowadays. Go on, you still have time to binge watch most of the episodes before the season finale, tonight!

What is the deal with Younger?

Liza Miller (Sutton Foster) is a suburban mom/bookworm that started a career in publishing 15 years before the start of the series. She gave up her career to devote herself to her family and now, more than a decade later she is in the middle of a divorce from her cheating husband and living apart from her daughter who is enjoying an academic year in India.

After multiple failed job interviews Liza goes to hang out with Maggie (Debi Mazar), her lesbian best friend at a bar in Brooklyn where she meets a handsome and much younger man that confuses her with a 26-year-old. After leaving the bar, Maggie tells Liza that she does look young for her age, and with that premise both are propelled to action. New Liza, as a 26-year-old, lands herself a job as the assistant of Diana Trout (Miriam Shor) the head of Marketing for a publishing house in New York.

Now, armed with the confidence of a young woman but the smarts of a much more and mature female, Liza is ready for everything. Including a date with sexy Josh (Nico Tortorella) the tattoo artist that first confused her with a twenty something hot girl.

The pilot was fun, fast and entertaining, and it had a glimpse to the various characters that would be part of the series in the future, including Kelsey (Hilary Duff), Liza's friend and Jr. Editor at Empirical Publishing, Lauren (Molly Bernard) a publicists for the fashion brand "Hector and Dorf" (and Kelsey's best friend) and Thad (Dan Amboyer), hedge fund manager and Kelsey's boyfriend.

What happens next?

The series progresses as Liza balances her new 26-year-old identity with her family and friends. Her comedic adventures are real happenings for many of the millennials today, but they are fun to see from the point of view of a 40-year-old suburban mom who's passing as a 20 something.

Let's take a look at cross fitting, dodgeball, or skateboarding. I've done all of those things and failed and fall memorably. But now think as if you were doing them, but you were 40 years old? Wouldn't you laugh?

I know I have found Younger extremely satisfying and motivating. In a world where age seems to have the competitive market nominated and there's so much expectation to have success and millions before the time you're 30, getting close to that number becomes a terrifying experience. But the reality is that age is just a number, and what matters is that you live every day getting the most of it and learning from every experience, even if those experiences come at a different stage of your life.

Don't miss the last episode of this first season of Younger and I am sure you'll be hooked for the second season coming this fall!
