Unlike it's DC Cinematic Universe sibling, Suicide Squad, there has been little to no information about [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) that has been leaked unless you count the teaser trailer that was leaked a few days early. So we as fans have been forced to wait for Warner Bros. to give us information to wet our appetite until the official release of Batman v Superman in theaters March 2016. I personally have been starving and confirmation by Collider of the official synopsis of Batman v Superman has definitely help ease my hunger pains.

“Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”

Honestly this synopsis has been obvious since they announced that there was going to be a Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. The title pretty much gives away the synopsis. Batman and Superman are fighting and yea something is going to happen that causes future Justice League members to unite against difficult odds. And for those that didn't know it; the trailer pretty much confirmed this synopsis. It's also comic book accurate with the Man of Steel comic book run by John Byrne. In this comic run by Byrne Superman goes to Gotham to confront the vigilante Batman but when they meet the two are forced to work together to capture a villain. The Man of Steel comic cleverly illustrated how Superman and Batman had different views on dealing with criminals.

The only question is what threat to the world forces Batman and Superman to come together in Batman v Superman? In the Man of Steel comic it was Magpie a kleptomaniac that made deadly versions of the things she stole; leaving the replica to injure people. While she was a villain that needed to be dealt with for sure; it is very unlikely that Magpie will be featured as the threat that put's mankind at a greater danger than it has ever seen before. Recently it was reported that Doomsday would be a main villain in Batman v Superman. I personally think Doomsday will be saved for a Superman solo movie as he is most famous for fighting Superman one on one to the death.

Doomsday has shown up quite often in Justice League comic issues but this is a villain I would like to see Superman take on solo. And because of how iconic their battle to the death was I do not think Doomsday would be used in anything other than a Solo Superman movie. So if not Doomsday who will be the villain?

The King of Atlantis and the Seven Seas?

Aquaman protecting his people?
Aquaman protecting his people?

Not actually Aquaman but his kingdom which makes up 70% of the planet. Keep in mind that in Man of Steel the Kryptonians not only caused damage to Metropolis but also to the ocean and sea life; so, a retaliation by the people of Atlantis is not out of the question. And attacking the surface dwellers would be very true to the source material which is the comics. But it would likely be Orm the hot headed brother of Aquaman leading the attack.

Imagine a race of angry super strength Meta-Human's walking out of the oceans to attack the human race. This would be a threat that put's mankind at a greater danger than it has ever seen before. A threat even greater than what we saw from Zod in Man of Steel which would be more than Superman could handle by himself and a threat Batman could not handle on his own. This would actually be a threat that could be the Dawn of Justice....pun intended.

Of course Aquaman being half human would be conflicted but would side with what is right in the end. An attack by the people of Atlantis would be a worthy threat to bring the Justice League together while at the same time preserving a great villain for a Superman solo movie. But what are your thoughts? Does Doomday or an Attack by the people of Atlantis offer a bigger threat to mankind? What villain would you like to see in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?
