When it comes to the highly anticipated reboot of The X-Files, the truth is out there. At least if you consider these recently released onset photos to be the truth, otherwise, you may have to keep searching.

X-Files creator Chris Carter used his shiny, new Instagram account to publish the earliest photos from the new set.

In case there was any doubt left in your head (I'm looking at you, skeptics), this is definitive proof that the project is really getting off the ground. Here's a clipboard from the first day of shooting, which began on June 4th.

Fun fact: Joel Ransom, who's the director of photography on this first episode of the new series, also worked as the DP on the original first episode back in the day. How 'bout that for some cohesion?

Oh, and then there's this.

I never knew the sight of two empty chairs could fill me with so much emotion.

Lastly, we got our first look at the special agents themselves. Here's the new first look at Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) shared on the official X-Files Twitter page.

So, it's not much, but this early look is enough to get me excited. The X-Files reboot will premiere on January 24, 2016 on Fox.
