So, after logging on yesterday morning, checking sites like Comic-Book Resources and Bleeding Cool, for some things to chat about I stumbled across something rather disheartening..
The Simpsons are splitting up!?
The Executive Producer Al Jean said in a Variety article "Simpsons fans will have to brace for a rocky 27th season ahead. "In the premiere, it’s discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy," the series' showrunner explained. "And it’s an incredible strain on the marriage. Homer and Marge legally separate.
I mean holy crap; what a move, but to be honest this could come as a refreshing breath of air to a cartoon many have said are "running out of ideas". Personally, I don't feel the same way and I guess so do the showrunners. The only thing nowadays that stands as "original" is the lives that we live day to day, and The Simpsons are about the closest thing there is to an "original cartoon", with South Park coining the term "The Simpsons did it." Whatever The Simpsons do, do, they do right.
Cept the movie, sorry.
