It's absolutely one of the worst things to hear when someone has died. Last year, we had our fair share of heartache from multiple celebrities who unfortunately passed away.

Today is no different as it has just been reported that legendary actor Sir Christopher Lee passed away Sunday (June 7, 2015) at 8:30 AM at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he was being treated for respiratory problems and heart failure.

His wife, Lady Brigit Lee, chose to keep the news a secret until all their family had been informed of the terrible news.

A Lifetime of Achievement

But unlike so many tragic stories of celebrities passing away, Sir Christopher Lee did live a long and interesting life. He once worked with the SAS Special Operations before he went on to spend the rest of his life as an actor. That's not to say that it was time for him to pass, but that we should celebrate his achievements in film and remember him for the way that he made us feel and be at peace knowing that he was able to continue his desire to entertain millions of people around the world with an unrelenting passion. This passion was what led him to receive a knighthood five years ago for his services to drama and charity.

His Most Iconic Roles

He's played a number of iconic roles in his lifetime. He actually has over 260 movies under his belt. I personally, will always remember him as Saruman the White from The Lord of the Rings, while others may first remember him as Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. An older generation will remember him for the many classic works that he's done, including Lord Summerwise in The Wickerman (1973), Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) and as the legendary Dracula:

To Celebrate His Memory

However you remember him best, be sure to watch a film of his in his honor. We as fans can't personally do anything to ease the pain the family may be feeling at this moment. What we can do is offer our prayers and support. To celebrate who he was and how he entertained all of us at different times of our lives could at least offer peace to the family.

To the Lee family, my prayers go out to you. Sir Christopher Lee will go down in history as one of the greatest actors to ever live.
