Lucasfilm has announced that the upcoming [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158) will be at Comic Con San Diego this Summer. The panel will be held in Hall H, the room where so many big announcements and huge panels have been held over past years.
J.J Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, Lawrence Kasdan and other special guests will attend the panel.
I guess this was a no brainer, Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens is without a doubt the biggest movie event of the year and the biggest films are almost always showcased at Comic Con. I guess this is where we will most likely get our first official full length trailer for the film as the film will only be 5 months out from Comic Con. So far we've had two teasers for the film, both tantalizing and plenty to bide fans by but now might be the time to get a sense of the story, to understand just what is going to go down in Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.
MARVEL has announced that they will have no presence at this years Comic Con and that makes sense, they no longer have any announcements to make seeing as their entire Phase 3 slate was revealed late last year at a special conference. I guess they could reveal Spider-Man, but they might be saving that for D23, the Disney exclusive expo.
Marvel's absence from SDCC will certainly allow both Lucasfilm and Warner Bros/DC to get a lot of attention, I still think DC will really make this their Comic Con as in the past they've always had to contend with Marvel. But Lucasfilm could certainly surprise us all, I think it's a no brainer that we'll get a trailer but I'm intrigued to see what else they do. The panel should be fantastic as everyone on board the film seems very passionate and excited about the project.
