Lately it seems we're getting all sorts of character announcements both in Marvel and DC, and specifically for DC, there's one favorite I'm still waiting on hearing about. J'onn J'onzz aka Martian Manhunter.

He's been one of my favorite comic book characters for a long time and I haven't heard much more than a whisper on him showing up in a DC film.

Unfortunately for me, my own preference would like him to be brought into the fold last. It would be interesting to see him first as a villain. Technically his character could be present from the beginning and we just wouldn't and couldn't know it. He is capable of shape-shifting, making himself look like other people. His first appearance in comics, in Detective Comics #225 he appears as Batman.

Martian Manhunter brings a ton of potential material to the table and is one of the most faithful members of the Justice League.

Martian Manhunter is the last surviving member of his alien race, who happens to be from Mars, hence "Martian". He is similar to that of Superman in that Superman's normal self is Superman, and covers his real identity in costume as Clark Kent the suit wearing journalist. Martian Manhunter dresses in costume to cover his identity as John Jones, a gritty police officer.

Martian Manhunter's powers are very similar to that of Superman; flight, super-human strength and durability among others. Superman himself called Martian Manhunter "the most powerful creature on the face of the Earth" in Justice League of America #86 (2003).

David Goyer, the writer of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" said calling Martian Manhunter by that name is silly, and said it would be better to have him referred to as just "Manhunter".

I hate when writers make it seem like there's absolutely no way to be creative in writing in a character's name. I understand they might think the massive audience might react oddly to "Martian" but maybe for less than a second. We're visiting a universe where there's a "Super" man from another planet...

Well, either way, I just want him to show up soon, and I want him to show up in full glory!
