At the tender age of 19, Sophie Turner has achieved what many actresses work painstakingly toward for years. Already one of Hollywood's hottest young prospects, Turner holds a major role in HBO’s phenomenally successful Game of Thrones.

And while many know Turner only as Sansa Stark, nonetheless the actress plays a difficult role with a character that has undergone a major transformation, shifting from a fickle young teenager to an integral figure of the show’s narrative and powerful female role model. Yet, there is so much more to Sophie Turner’s abilities than to be contained solely to the George R.R. Martin-penned fantasy. At such a young age, the actress has already shown that she has the ability and talent to helm a film as a leading protagonist.

Another Me was Turner's first project in the lead role, a gritty thriller about a teenager who finds her perfect life upended when stalked by a mysterious doppelganger, a stark shift from the fantasy world of Westoros. After this, Turner turned her attentions toward the action comedy Barely Lethal, holding her own alongside Samuel L. Jackson.

But the best is still yet to come. In what is a smart move for the future of her career, Sophie Turner has landed one of the most coveted roles for a young actress in recent years and will be playing a young Jean Grey in the highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse. With the explosion of the superhero genre, every actor and actress wants a piece of the action, with roles fiercely contended. It’s telling that, as fierce as the competition for superhero films is and as critical as their fanbases are, the only reactions in regard to Turner’s casting were largely positive.

It’s a high pressure role that might daunt some young actresses, but Turner has always carried herself with an aplomb and old school grace that makes her seem more worldly and experienced than most her age breaking into the business. She plays her roles with a canny wisdom that belies her youth, and it serves her well. Turner is compellingly watchable, not because she leaves everything on the screen, but because you get the sense that she’s holding something back, and watching her will eventually reveal it.

Add all of the above to a beauty that is equally matched by a personality that comes across so brilliantly in interviews, and it's safe to say that we are witnessing the arrival of our next Hollywood star.

Sophie Turner's natural elegance and ability to captivate is a throwback to classic Hollywood in a modern business. She's best known from her role of Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones.
