How's it going all of you horror movie lovers?

My name is Zach and I was recently contacted by Mike Fleck, a creator on MoviePilot, asking me if I was interested in joining the community of MoviePilot.

In complete honesty, I didn't even know I was able to write for MoviePilot. I've always visited this website - along with many others - in search of updates and reviews on anything horror movie related. So when I get a comment on my video review of Insidious Chapter 3, I was ecstatic! And what better to talk about everything horror than over the internet?

So here we are! First post, first time sitting in front of my computer as I type this continuously thinking about what to say and what my future posts will be about. Does it get easier?

I will say however that I do have a YouTube channel (link will be posted down below) where I upload mostly horror movie reviews (there are occasional non-horror reviews such as Jurassic World). The process of that is fairly simple. Sit down in front of a camera and talk about what I liked about the movie and what I didn't like about it.

Horror movies are my life. I can't express how much that sentence rings true to me. I remember my first horror film. I was six years old and it was at my older sisters sleepover birthday party. That movie was M. Night Shyamalan's SIGNS. I don't care what anyone says...that movie is terrifying.

After that night, the feeling of being scared, the adrenaline that begins to flow through your body, the blood pumping through your veins as you await a terrifying sequence of events, stuck with me.

At the age of thirteen I saw the first, original, and classic HALLOWEEN. To say the least, that movie made me feel the exact same way I felt when I watched SIGNS. It was at that moment that I knew that horror was going to be a huge part of my life.

For starters, I grew up in the Chicago area. I lived there since I was born all the way up to when I was nineteen. Now, twenty years old, I'm living in upstate New York going to school for a degree in Digital Cinema. And let me tell you, it has been a wild ride! I've made so many amazing connections since I've been out here in New York, especially getting to meet many people that are part of the horror movie community and have even starred in horror films. For example, Felissa Rose who played Angela from 1983's Sleepaway Camp, Camille Keaton from 1978's I Spit On Your Grave, Lynn Lowry from 1973's The Crazies, and so many more.

I can honestly say that I am proud to be a horror fan and I know for a fact that if I wasn't, I wouldn't be where I am today, including writing this post on So many great things have happened in my life and I'm honestly excited to let those things continue on here.

Let's get this started!
