The new Jurassic Park movie Jurassic World is a great movie. While it doesn't quite capture the wonder and amazement the first one did, while it still tried. It makes up for the lack of wonder with it's surprising amount of brutality and violence.
for a PG-13 movie, Jurassic world is a very dark and brutal movie, not exactly one to take the whole family to.
Jurassic World is everything I expected... from Godzilla. And I mean that in a good way.
If you remember, last year, that new Godzilla movie came out. And I liked it, but it was a little disappointing.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked the new Godzilla, but.
Godzilla promised a few things, that it didn't deliver on.
in this review/ in depth article, I will list what Godzilla didn't live up to, that Jurassic World did.
Jurassic World, felt more like a natural disaster movie than Godzilla (by natural disaster movie, I am referring to a movie depicting a natural disaster)
Gareth Edwards (the director of Godzilla) promised that Godzilla himself, will be represented as a natural disaster (like a hurricane or a tornado) and would not be good or evil. When the movie finally came out, it ended with a billboard that read, "Godzilla, king of the monsters, savior of the city." this movie that was supposed to feel like a natural disaster movie actual called Godzilla, the savior of the city! at times Godzilla felt more like a giant super hero, than a hurricane.
However, Jurassic world really felt like a natural disaster movie, these dinosaurs are not friendly.
This is best evidenced by the scene were the raptors decide to fallow the Indominus Rex. Chris Pratt says, "the Raptors have a new alpha!"
Unlike Godzilla, the raptors, and the other dinosaurs in Jurassic World truly are neither good, nor evil, they are just animals . A point Godzilla would have had, if it didn't, literally called Godzilla, "the savior of the city".
Jurassic World builds up it's monster(s) better than Godzilla.
While Godzilla, did do a great job at building up the mutos, it didn't quite build up Godzilla (you know the title character). It seemed that the only thing that built him up, was Ken Watenaba saying, "we call him... Godzilla"
Were as Jurassic World did a great job building up it's dinosaurs. especially the indominus Rex.
Jurassic World, gets more use out of it's biggest star (Chris Pratt) than Godzilla gets out of it's big star (Bryan Cranston)
One of the things I was most excited about with Godzilla, was that it had Bryan Cranston
I am a huge fan of Breaking Bad! And Godzilla was like my childhood hero! So you bet I was excited to see a showdown between Godzilla, and the Heisenberg!
But what happens? Bryan Cranston's character dies before Godzilla even makes his grand appearance. And the rest of the movie was spent with a boring Aaron Taylor Johnson.
What a let down.
Jurassic world on the other hand, had Chris Pratt, from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Jurassic World promised, Star Lord vs Dinosaurs, and it delivered that promise, for unlike Bryan Cranston in Godzilla, Chris Pratt was truly the star of Jurassic World!
That's why I liked Jurassic World better than Godzilla 2014, and some of the many reasons to see it in theaters.
Also the 3D in Jurassic world is way better than the 3D in Godzilla. I definitely recommend seeing Jurassic wold in 3D.
