Breaking news out of the Star Wars:Rogue One camp is that Forrest Whitaker has officially joined the cast. Of course, he's most famous for The Last King of Scotland, but he has had numerous prominent roles and is by all accounts a good fit for the Star Wars Cinematic Universe. At this point in time, it's unclear what role he will take on in the film.
So far, the confirmed cast members for Rogue One are Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler), Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman), and Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises).
The first in the “Star Wars Anthology” series of spin-off films, Rogue One will follow a rogue band of resistance fighters united to steal the Death Star plans and bring new hope to the galaxy.
Director Gareth Edwards had this to say about it at 'Star Wars Celebration':
“It’s the reality of war. Good guys are bad. Bad guys are good."
Variety also reports that Whitaker has been cast for The Crow remake which will be directed by Corin Hardy.
