I'm pretty sure all of us have had that feel while seeing a movie, "The food that those guys are eating, I SO want it!"
Mostly such feelings of longing and jealousy for the guys who're getting to eat all of that stuff stem from fantasy series, but then many a times the "closer-to-real" films bring about those feelings too!
So after reading this post, I have decided to bring out a list of food items I'd include on my "Movie-Restaurant"'s menu...
Big Kahuna Burger
For those like me who were trying to locate this extremely iconic burger chain which features in a lot of Tarantino films, most famously as the "tasty burger" in Pulp Fiction, it is fictional. However it has led to some extremely iconic scenes.
The Original Tomato Sauce
"You start out with a little bit of oil. Then you fry some garlic. Then you throw in some tomatoes, tomato paste, you fry it; you make sure it doesn't stick. You get it to a boil; you shove in all your sausage and your meatballs. And a little bit of wine, and a little bit of sugar—that's my trick."
Clemenza's Sunday Sauce gracy recipe, from The Godfather
Except of the fact that there were rats in the kitchen, this seemed to be an extremely delicious dish considering Ego (whose name pretty much tells you about his personality) was completely moved by this dish!
There are hardly any scenes more romantic than Lady and the Tramp sharing a bowl of meatballs and spaghetti in the back alleys...
Three Course Dinner Chewing Gum
Having a gum like this was pretty much my fantasy after reading that book and seeing the movie. Although the desire was reduced because of the after effects of it, I'm pretty sure anyone would love to have this gum (with all the bugs fixed that is...)
White Castle Burgers
Not just the burgers but the fries and colas too! After seeing what Harold and Kumar did to get to them, I sure want these!
Nectar and Ambrosia
Now I sure ain't a demi-god (I maybe, but there'll be monsters after me if I put it on the internet, so I maybe...) So this one is supposed to burn me, but considering it's just delectable and it has healing powers too, I guess it would make a great meal (a last meal maybe)
Lembas or Waybread is what kept our heroes Samwise Gamgee and Frodo Baggins energized on their quest! It is supposed to be quite tasty, though a journey into Mordor does adversely affect the taste.
Okay, so now, I'm feeling extremely hungry, so I gotta run to get some of my normal people food, but before that, I have to mention one more, or actually a lot more...
Nah, you don't have to eat The Boy Who Lived. But admit it, you wanted to go to Hogwarts, become a wizard or a witch, but more than any of that you wanted to try all those marvelous magical treats they had! From Butterbeer, to those candies being sold on the train, The Chocolate Frog, The Jelly Beans to name a few. The Christmas and Halloween special feasts! *sigh*
Which Menu Item would you order first?
After that torturous journey of seeing some gastric delights, I hope you enjoyed reading do check out some more cool stuff on my Blog Moviemphetamine! Do comment with some of your favorite food items featured in fiction!
PS. I didn't include Harry Potter on the poll, because well who wouldn't choose the Harry Potter delicacies, put in your second favorite!
