Have you ever discussed genre films or actors with someone and you mention your favorite and the other person has absolutely no idea who or what you're talking about? Me too! The horror genre is host to a large list of great talent that get nowhere near the attention they should. In this new series, I will be bringing you some of the most underrated actors and actresses of the genre, each part will consist of 10 names. How many names and faces will you recognize?

10. Alex Vega (PenaVega)

Vega is most known for her role as Carmen in the Spy Kids films, but as she got older, she made a genre leap into horror. Horror fans will recognize her from the films Repo! The Genetic Opera and The Devil's Carnival. Other genre-centric films she has been in include 2010's Mother's Day, The Hunters, Roommate Wanted, Machete Kills, Wicked Blood and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She's a fantastic, versatile actress. She has a lovely singing voice and can portray any character that is offered to her. She has a handful of genre films due out in the next couple of years including Tell Tale Lies and a rumored roll in Machete Kills in Space.

9. Robert Mukes

Mukes is most remembered as Rufus in Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses. He had a reoccurring role on the TV series Weeds as Abumchuk. He has an intimidating presence, but is a very down to earth person. He is type-casted in the big man roles, and I would love to see him in more of a leading/hero role. Mukes has more films due out this coming year such as Krampus: The Devil Returns and The Mongers.

8. Sean Patrick Flanery

Best known as Powder and Connor MacManus of The Boondock Saint and The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, Sean Patrick Flanery has also made quite the impression on the horror community at conventions and starring in several B-movies. Flanery has B-horror credits in films such as The Insatiable, Kaw, Savage Planet, Mongolian Death Worm and many others. He has credits in some more notable horror films such as Saw 3D: The Final Chapter and The Devil's Carnival. Flanery can also be seen in a vast number of TV series popular throughout the horror community such as The Dead Zone, Masters of Horror, Charmed, The Twilight Zone and Dexter. He is currently a regular at conventions worldwide and an instructor of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

7. Todd Farmer

Farmer is well known in the horror community as the writer of such films as Jason X, My Bloody Valentine 3D, The Messengers and The Messengers 2: The Scarecrow. He also wrote the 2011 Nicholas Cage film, Drive Angry in which he also plays the role of Frank. He has a long list of cameo appearances in most of the films he has written such as Dallas in Jason X and Frank the Trucker in My Bloody Valentine 3D (he was even brave enough to show his butt in a sex scene), he also had a cameo as a tech guy in Tyler Mane's film Compound Fracture. Farmer costarred with Nick Principe in the 2014 revenge thriller, American Muscle as Sam Falcon. Farmer is rumored to be in the upcoming film Zombificador.

Klebe is best known for her role as the foul-mouthed badgirl Lynda in Rob Zombie's adaptation of Halloween. She can also be found in Adam Green's Chillerama, Zone of the Dead, Killer Mermaid and the upcoming The Devil's Carnival: Alleluia! and Tales of Halloween. She has had a cameo on the popular TV series The Following that stars Kevin Bacon. She is a gifted actress and possesses a knack for character work.

Scout is best known for her portrayal of Laurie Strode in 2007's Halloween reboot and 2009's Halloween II, but she has been in other genre films before it. She was in Wicked Little Things where she played big sister to Chloë Grace Moretz (Carrie), April Fool's Day reboot and stared opposite Tyler Mane (again) and Travis Van Winkle (Friday the 13th 2009) in the thriller 247°F. She also had a cameo as a fairy on Charmed. Scout has a film due out later this year with Mark Boone Jr. (Sons of Anarchy) titled Ghost House.

4. Brendan Fletcher

Brendan Fletcher has been in several genre favorites, but not many people recognize him. Fletcher can be found in films like Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed, Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning, Freddy vs Jason and most recently in the BloodRayne films, Rampage, Rampage 2: Capital Punishment and Leprechaun Origins. He's had cameos on several popular TV series such as Goosebumps, Supernatural, Tru Calling, Smallville, Alcatraz and Bates Motel. He is working his way up to the "that guy" status of Sean Whalen. He is the total package, he can handle heavy emotion and action without once becoming too "cheesy".

3. Felissa Rose

Felissa Rose is best known for her role as the original Angela in the first Sleepaway Camp film when she was just 13-years-old. Since Sleepaway Camp, she has married CKY frontman Deron Miller and became a mother, but she has still found time to meet fans at conventions and continue a film career. She is becoming the B-movie queen with titles such as Camp Dread (opposite Danielle Harris and Eric Roberts), Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre (opposite her husband), Dahmer vs Gacy and Zombie Killers: Elephant Graveyard. Not only is she a talented actress, but she is a genuine, sweet person.

2. Brian Steele

You may not know his "normal" face, Brian Steele is called the Creature Boy for a reason. If the film has a monster in it, chances are he is the man behind the mask. Steele is best known as Sammael in Hellboy and Mr. Wink (and other various character) in Hellboy II. His creature work can also be found in films such as Resident Evil: Extinction, Predators and the 2014 Bigfoot feature, Exists. He was Harry in the TV series Harry and the Hendersons.

1. Nick Principe

Nick Principe
Nick Principe

Principe has played a wide array of characters from a slasher to a cross-dresser, his talent is undeniable. His large size and number of tattoos give him one menacing appearance, but he's actually a super nice guy that genuinely loves his fans and the genre. Those that know who he is most likely recognize him as Chromeskull from Laid To Rest and Chromeskull: Laid To Rest 2. Principe turns every role he takes into a show-stealing performance, for example, he had a small role in the film The FP and in the small amount of screen time he had, he stole the show. His most terrifying role was not actually Chromeskull, but as Massive in the 2014 film Collar. His size, deep voice and body language are not the only attributes that make him successful in the films he is in, he has a knack for acting with his eyes. Whether he's scared, sad or ready to fillet someone, he completely sells the emotion of the scene with his eyes. You can also find him as the pig mask wearing killer Damien in Madison County, Len in the crime drama Nobody Can Cool, Max Seed in Seed 2 and the starring role of John Falcone in the revenge thriller American Muscle (opposite Todd Farmer).
