Ubisoft are a seriously busy developer at the moment and we've only realised the scope of this following their E3 conference which we were treated to yesterday. We saw [Tom Clancy's The Division](tag:2684169), [Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege](tag:2768317), Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and a really cool looking sword-fighting game entitled, For Honor. It's hard to imagine what else they have waiting for us, but Far Cry 5 and Watch Dogs 2 are definitely going to be receiving their time in the spotlight at some point in the future.

But which game are you more excited for? Far Cry 4 was remarkably similar to Far Cry 3, though it did improve on a few things and the interactions with wildlife were far superior. But if they aim to grab our attention for Far Cry 5, they'd best come up with a fresh concept for the sequel. Watch Dogs 2 similarly needs a lot of reworking, but mostly much further expansions on the minimalist gameplay ideas we were confronted with in Watch Dogs. So, which release date has more potential for success?

Watch Dogs 2 vs Far Cry 5 for Ubisoft Release Date - Which Would You Choose?

Watch Dogs is nothing which I could become remotely excited about. The driving was awful, the hacking part of the game was far too minimal, the story was extremely boring and cliche-ridden, and to top it all off, Aiden Pearce is an imbecilic excuse for a human being. But I didn't hate it, it was just filled with far too many bad ideas. It has potential as an IP, but they need to transform the hell out of it to make Watch Dogs 2 even remotely exciting.

Far Cry 5 probably has a much higher chance of success. Ubisoft have done a really interesting job of developing this series, and I've been with it since its infancy. They held a poll for ideas surrounding Far Cry 5 and they came up with some pretty ridiculous settings. For instance, they offered up ideas like putting it into a futuristic sci-fi world, setting it in Vietnam in the 1960s, or in the cocaine-trafficking jungles of Peru. We also got a spaghetti western recommendation, or during a zombie outbreak (please no!), Far Cry as Mad Max and basically Jurassic Park with a lot more guns. Madness!

But even though Far Cry 5 has more potential, I really want to see Ubisoft make Watch Dogs 2 work. The idea of hacking everything around you is pretty awesome and if they gave us more options with regards to gameplay and an engaging campaign, it could really work! But until they show us the direction they plan to take the game in, I'm going to reserve all forms of hype.

But what about you guys? Are you already dying to play Far Cry 5? Or is Watch Dogs 2 something that you really want to see work? In terms of a release date, I'm sure Far Cry 5 is something we'll be hearing of first. It's more of an established franchise and Ubisoft would needed to have waited to see what fans thought of Watch Dogs to make the decision of what to do with the sequel. Be sure to let us know what Ubisoft game you're most excited for in the comments below and what release date you think we'll see first!
