It's been 6 years since Rob Zombie's "Halloween II" arrived in theaters garnering a negative reception from both fans & critics. Since then it was rumored that Dimension Films would still be moving forward on "Halloween 3D" but that was long gone after "My Bloody Valentine 3D" director Patrick Lussier dropped out. Recently it was announced that "Saw" writers Marcus Dunston & Patrick Melton would be working on an untitled reboot in the "Halloween" series & now comes word that the new reboot will be titled "Halloween Returns". Co chairman of Dimension Films Bob Weinstein said "Michael Myers has taken a long break from the big screen and we know fans are eager to see him return, We look forward to bringing one of the scariest installments of this classic franchise to audiences worldwide." According to multiple sources the reboot will follow the events in 1981's "Halloween II" and will focus on Deputy Gary Hunt (played by Hunter Von Leer) & will go in a different direction from there. There is no word yet if Laurie Strode, Leigh Brackett or Dr. Sam Loomis will appear in the reboot. This comes as a surprise to fans who were expecting a follow up to Rob Zombie's films or a complete reboot disregarding both of the original sequels & remakes. Hopefully this reboot brings back the classic Michael Myers character from the original films rather than the hulking brute from the remakes.
