I remember watching a majority of these animated TV shows as a child. I looked forward to finishing my homework every day, busting out some chocolate chip cookies and milk, and putting on my favorite cartoons.
I laughed every time Tommy, Chuckie, and co. pronounced more difficult words incorrectly. I was nervous for Ginger as she talked to her crush, Ian Richton. I stared enviously as the characters from Rocket Power surfed some massive waves with absolute ease.
Now that I'm an adult, I wonder what these characters' lives would be like and what they would look like if they were to grow into men and women. Thankfully these artists have created some fantastic art depicting some of my favorite characters. Be sure to bring some tissues, because these beloved babies are all grown up!
I've never seen an aardvark pull off glasses quite as well as Arthur does.
2. As Told by Ginger
I love that Ginger has kept Dodie and Macie as her friends after all these years! It reminds me of myself and my wonderful high school friends, who are still my besties.
3. Dexter's Lab
If you thought he was a genius then, just wait until you see him now. I'm sure he studied at Harvard or the like, and then discovered the cure for cancer soon after.
Doug has always been a huge fan of the band The Beets. I'm sure by now he has his own rocking band and Patty is his cute and supportive girlfriend. Just look how stylish the couple is.
5. Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy
It doesn't surprise me that Ed, Edd, and Eddy end up dating the Kanker sisters. All those years of teasing really translated to their childish way of flirting.
6. Hey Arnold!
Something inside me just wants Helga and Arnold to end up together. And judging by this fan's art, it seems that they do. Hopefully their love softened up that girl a little bit.
7. Jimmy Neutron
Who says nerdy isn't sexy? It seems like these geeky guys grew up to be the smart and successful men they were meant to be. The flirting happening between Jimmy and Cindy is absolutely adorable.
8. Magic School Bus
Ms. Frizzle made learning so much fun! It looks like her students not only grew up to be smart and knowledgable adults, but everyone developed an incredible sense of style. I'd wear Ms. Frizzle's outfit in a heartbeat.
9. Power Puff Girls
I bet they're still made of sugar, spice, and everything nice.
Sure Gretchen and Ashley didn't exactly see eye-to-eye all the time when they were younger. But now that they're older and more mature, they can appreciate each others' differences.
11. Rocket Power
Yes, they're still surfing and skating. Yes, they still dislike "shoobies," and yes, they still have their fancy handshake.
I did not expect Chuckie to become such a hipster. And I could never picture Tommy with a full head of hair! They all look so attractive and fashionable.
Oh, the nostalgia! I want to curl up in bed, put on some Hey Arnold!, maybe play my old Rugrats computer game?
