While speaking to Yahoo! Movies regarding the release of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Vaughn spoke briefly about Kick-Ass 3 and a Hit-Girl Prequel and how he’d like to return!

Vaughn stated that he was “not happily done with the franchise.” His idea is to make a prequel of the origins of Hit-Girl and Big Daddy to gain audiences interests again before making Kick Ass 3. The only issue I have with this is that who is going to play Hit Girl? Chloe Grace Moretz has already stated she’s done with the franchise and believes Kick-Ass 3’s chances are dead. Plus she’s already older and it will be hard to see her playing a younger Hit-Girl after seeing her in the original Kick-Ass and her older in Kick-Ass 2. So will the role be recast? For the prequel, it will most definitely have to.

I’m sure most of us can agree Kick-Ass 2 just wasn’t nearly as good as Kick Ass. Believe me, I’m a huge fan of the franchise and comic-books and loved Jim Carrey’s portrayal of Colonel Stars and Stripes. However, the movie just fell flat to me, had too many cheesy moments and bad dialogue. Not only did Kick-Ass garner praise from audiences and critics but also gained success at the box office. The sequel did neither of those and quite frankly, didn’t live up to its predecessor.

Even with Vaughn’s recent comments, Mark Millar is not optimistic on the possibility of these two films being made, especially with Vaughn returning to direct either of them. And I agree, we know Matthew Vaughn isn’t too keen on making sequels. He may come back for Kingsman 2, although we all thought he’d be back for Kick Ass 2 and the sequel to X-Men First Class before it became Days of Future Past, not that we’re upset with that one. But the only way we may see a chance of this movie being made right is with him behind it. Hopefully Jane Goldman, who is a terrific writer, having worked on Kick-Ass, X-Men First Class and Days of Future Past, along with Vaughn’s recent hit Kingsman will join as well.

In conclusion, the possibility of these movies being made by Vaughn is pretty slim unfortunately. However, that doesn’t mean another director could come in and take over. I just hope they make a better choice in direction this time around.

Do you guys think Vaughn will return? Moretz? Hell Kick-Ass Aaron-Taylor Johnson himself?!

Also, I’d love to hear your opinions on who you’d like to see come in a direct Kick-Ass 3 or a Hit-Girl prequel? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading everyone! Stay tuned for more coming your way.
