The rift was still open. A wound in our reality leading to another. Or maybe just a collapse in space closing distance across limitless bounds. Unfortunately for Earth there are those in the universe that can feel the universe's entirety. There are those that can peer through the holes, and rifts of that nature are not bound by dimensions as frivolous as time.

He was man who had mastered time. It had become a meaningless limitation, but as he looked at the stars with his family he couldn't help but feel like he had failed his idol, Jules Verne. The great scientist realized he had only conquered half of his domain, but he started with the hard one. With Time out of the way, Space should be a breeze.

Versus The Empire
Versus The Empire

The Jaegers were being re-purposed. The Kaiju war was over at last, but so much money was put into these mechanical beast it felt a shame to simply dismantle them. Companies began to buy the machines from the governments of the world. A new sport was on the horizon. Jaeger battles had become all the rage. The fabled Gypsie Danger had been purchased by the Flux corporation. Rebuilt stronger than before, and it was dominating the pro circuit. No one could understand how this machine could move so quickly. They had no way of knowing that the man who had become a Wizard of Space and Time had built the mythical machine to slow time around it.

On a night during a match between Gypsie Danger and the redesigned Striker Eureka, the stars disappeared. Using the rift to peer into this world The Emperor had seen a civilization to conquer. He sent his new Apprentice to take this world with his own Death Star. Tie fighters fluttered through the sky as the Apprentice made a proclamation to the people of Earth. You can surrender or be destroyed. The Governments of the world have only a few days to decide, but they're given hope by the CEO of Flux. The Doc shows them a way to make the Jaegers space worthy. The Earth decides to trust the Jaegers once more in this new war against the Empire.

With the Jaegers retrofitted they hurls themselves through the sky and head for the Death Star. The Apprentice laughs, "They have no idea how unassailable this ship is. You have no womp rats to shoot here." The militaries of the world fight the Tie fighters who begin attacking the people on the ground. Meanwhile the Jaegers land on the enormous structures surface, and run along it. The Doc managed to shield them against laser attacks but the barrage of fire is heavy. Many Jaegers are lost. The others either make their way inside the ship or tear apart the laser cannons on the surface. The fighters are launched but look like bugs compared to the mighty Jaegers. The Apprentice is shocked such an offensive was possible, and is intrigued by the human's man-shaped ships.

He goes to face the one that tears apart a hangar bay. The Apprentice stands face to face with the fabled Gypsie Danger. during his battle with it he finds it odd that this creature can keep up with him. He notices the force behaves strangely around this machine. The Stormtroopers fire on it, finally disabling it's shield, and the Apprentice manages to burst inside the machine. He finds his way to the pilot, and though the pilot battles valiantly he is defeated. He is no match for the lightning wielder. The Apprentice notices a self destruct protocol activates. The Doc comes on the screen as the Apprentice is locked inside the machine. Nothing to say, simply to see his enemy. The Apprentice however says, "My Emperor will find you." The Doc smiles, "That would be impressive. There's not a lot of people that can follow me." The Gypsie Danger explodes.

The Apprentice with not much breath left tells the Stormtroopers to blow the planet for their insolence. The Doc peers at the impressive installation from the planet and sees a brilliant light begin to shine from the machine. "Great Scott!" He leaves the timeline as quickly as he can. The Jaegers having done there damage the Death star used up the last of it's energy to fire the planet destroying laser, and explodes with the Earth.

Only a small Empire ship is able to escape. Just a few troopers helping The Apprentice to stay alive. He's lost a lot of his body. If he is to live he'll be more machine than man, but you know what they say "Like father like son." Meanwhile The Doc contemplates his next move. Saving that Earth is important, but he has no idea how many worlds fell to this Empire. If he's going to stop them and save as many as possible he'll have to go back to their beginning. He knows he has a long time to go. All that is certain is that the Empire has made a powerful enemy.
