Movie's and I have a special kind of relationship. Also books are life.

After re watching Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire I remembered something. In the maze near the end of the movie, there is a point were Harry and Cedric are racing for the triwizard cup. And Cedric gets trapped in the roots, Harry considers leaving him there and running for the cup but as we all know, the goodness within Harry stopped him leaving his friend behind. But alas if he had, if he’d of been cruel enough, he likely would have saved his life. Cedric would not of ended up in the graveyard with Harry through the portkey, he would not have been in the way for Wormtail and Voldemort and would not have been killed by them. He would probably have been saved by a teacher surrounding the maze like Fleur.

And that’s a bit like life really, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind, even if Harry didn’t know it. Sometimes we do good things, unknowing that if we had just let that one little bad thing happen, we would have stopped a much worse outcome. And it’s crappy, but life can be cruel like that, so don’t feel bad for putting yourself first sometimes, it doesn’t mean your a bad person, just that you are intelligent enough to understand if you don’t, worse things could happen.
