A few months ago some information allegedly pertaining to Rockstar's return to the land of, Red Dead appeared on Reddit's Leakthread site from a disgruntled past employee. Of course no one took anything too seriously, but we've seen even the strangest rumours come to fruition concerning Video Games. So some gamers kept the notion in the back of their minds when it came to E3. But of course, there was no Red Dead Redemption 2 or Red Dead 3 in sight.

But I guess the appalling grammatical errors and spelling mistakes, coupled with the fact that the poster stuck around for a while to chat with commenters, all pointed to the fact that this really shouldn't have been taken seriously. But that being said, the "past Rockstar employee" gave us an idea of the direction that Red Dead Redemption 2 could go and I'd love to hear your take on it!

Red Dead Redemption 2: Rockstar Plot Leak & What You Think of it!

Now, I'm not taking any of this seriously (the guy called it Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West for Christ sake!) - but we've all had crazy ideas for Red Dead Redemption 2! However, I am interested in hearing your response to the ideas that this individual put forward. Would you like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Red Dead 3 to take shape in this particular way?

The game was to be set before the events of Red Dead Redemption. After all, Rockstar set Red Dead at the cusp of modernity for the old west. The railroad had arrived and it was to bring Eastern influence to these wild lands with it. The game was filled with a nostalgic longing for another time. It was embracing the future while simultaneously lamenting the crazy days of the cowboy. John Marston's character was at the centre of this struggle and he embodied the difficulty of change.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was to be set 12 years before the events of John Marston - so a cameo would be an obligation for Rockstar. You were to be given the option to play as three characters in the game - Irish and Seth from Red Dead Redemption or a third and new character. Here's a description of the backstory for Seth and Irish.

"Irish will be brought up in Ireland and will move to the Americas when he is fifteen and moves to the game setting when he turns twenty one. Seth is from Kansas City and works as a teller in a bank. He then hears of a treasure and uses his life savings to bring his family to Texas in the town of Tumbleweed. Throughout the story we experience him unraveling to his state of mind in the original game, losing his wife, children, home, and possessions to his treasure."

The third character is actually kind of interesting - you create them. You have control over their facial features and can pick from two different voices; similar to what we've seen Bioware accomplish. It's something that's actually quite intriguing and the only idea in the story that I'm particularly fond of! He then went on to describe the crafting system in the game, the ability to select your own horse and its breed, saddle and so forth.

All of which would be interesting options for Red Dead Redemption 2 to have. But would you be excited about this model? Do you think Rockstar will bring GTA V's three character model to Red Dead Redemption, or would it feel too familiar? Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments. And rest assured, even though this "leak" didn't come from the minds of those at Rockstar, rather some random attention-seeker, Rockstar are developing Red Dead 3!
