Horror Sequels In The Making?
With quite a few horror movies due out 2015/2016, lets take a look at the rumored ones and if there is a chance they will ever see the light of day.
The Blair Witch Project 3
Back in 1999, Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez paved the way for 'found footage' movies with 'The Blair Witch Project'. Filmed on a $60,000 budget it brought in more than $248,639,099 (Worldwide) at the box office, so it was only inevitable that the Blair Witch 2-Book of Shadows would make an appearance soon after.
Now however Eduardo Sanchez has teased that there may be a third installment. This is what he had to say to Dead Central.
We have been talking to Lionsgate and there has been a little bit of movement but nothing is concrete. The film seems inevitable to me, but really it’s just a matter of it being the right time. I’m thinking it’s going to happen sooner than later at this point, but I always say that. There’s always rumblings and certain ideas being pushed around and such. While I don’t have anything firm to talk about now, it wouldn’t surprise me if something happened within the next year or two.
If this film ever gets made however is another story, to make it work a third time, they will have to come up with a plot that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
After the success of 'The Conjuring' and 'Annabelle', It was only fitting they made the second installment The Conjuring 2 -The Enfield Poltergeist.
James Wan is returning to the director chair once more. The film centers on the case of the Enfield Poltergeist that happened back in 1977. The Warrens from the first film will be back once more to investigate. The release date is set for October 30th 2016, but this is subject to change.
This is the most talked about one so far in the rumor mill. This however is said to be in pre-production so with a plot line and everyone ready to go, this one is a certainty. The story line is :
The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers' victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers' case, even putting it before his own daughter. Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.
The release date is scheduled for 2016, so there will be a lot of happy Michael Myers fans out there.
Ouija was one of the surprises of 2014, and was a secret pleasure to many. Now Ouija 2 looks set to be making an appearance in 2016. Although no directors or cast have been confirmed as yet, writers Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard have confirmed they are writing it.
Paranormal Activity 5
Paramount are set to release this installment of the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise 2015 (though don't hold your breath yet) . This one is set to focus on a completely different family who move into a house haunted by supernatural forces (Of course it is!) Will this work or have fans lost interest after 'The Marked ones'
So over to you, which ones are you interested in seeing and which ones should be left dead and buried?
